Sri Lanka welcomes more than 87,000 tourists

Sri Lanka is all set to achieve its ambitious tourist arrivals target, as the country managed to attract a lucrative influx of travellers, with the first 25 days of April bringing in nearly 87,316 travellers.

According to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, during the first 25 days in April, nearly 87,316 travellers arrived in the country, taking the overall arrivals to 422,995 from 1 January to 25 April.

The highest number of tourists, during the 26 days in April, came from the India (17%) followed by Russian Federation (15%), the United Kingdom (9%), Germany (8%), France (6%), Australia (5%), China (4%), the United States (3%), Canada (3%) and Switzerland (2%)
