In parallel to this event, Sri Lanka Tourism also participated at the Outbound Travel Market

(OTM) at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. OTM is the leading travel show in the Asia-Pacific is the largest and most international gathering of travel trade buyers and professionals in India.

It has also connected the global travel fraternity for more than two decades and also the only travel show in India, with a balanced mix of travel trade and corporate. It is the best platform for marketing to the Indian travel trade, MICE segment and tourist. Mumbai and New Delhi are the two biggest outbound markets in India contributing over half of all overseas travel from the country.

This year’s OTM saw the participation of 1,250 + exhibitors from over 50 + countries, 30,000 + trade visitors and 1,000 + top buyers.

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has continuously participated at the OTM Travel Fair. This year, 31 local travel & tourism companies and around 70 local delegates participated in the OTM 2023 with Sri Lanka Tourism. Sri Lanka also received the award for best international group participation at this year’s OTM.

All the Co-exhibitors at Sri Lanka stand who represented Sri Lanka Tourism industry succeeded in strengthening existing businesses and establishing new business contacts throughout both fairs. They were satisfied with quality of business contacts they made during the two events. The public and trade visitors also displayed a particularly keen interest in Sri Lanka as a tourist destination and their response was extremely positive. The positive progress achieved by Sri Lanka at OTM and SATTE 2023 confirmed its position as an important marketing instrument in India for the local tourism industry.

The Sri Lanka Tourism officials had the opportunity of meeting top OTM + SATTE officials, Association heads, Tour operators, travel agents, professionals, media houses, journalists, airline representatives, product suppliers, investors, etc   in India.

In its promotional process, SLTPB has created networks with potential media houses, bloggers, influencers, PR agencies and tourism trade companies, celebrity planners, wedding planners, Cruise planners, E-Learning projects agent and Indian film industry. SLTPB expects to organize media / bloggers, influencers & celebrities / trade/ wedding planners’/ location mangers familiarization tours in the near future.
