Sri Lanka holds tourism promotion program in India

The second of the tourism promotion program series based in three of the main cities in India namely Chennai, Kochin and Bengaluru, was held as a grand successful event in Le Meridian hotel in Kochin on 26th April.

The tourism promotion program spanning 5 days is being held with the participation of Minister of Tourism and Lands Harin Fernando.

Nearly forty institutes from Sri Lanka and people connected to the tourism sector participated in this program, and together they have held a number of successful discussions on how to rebuild Sri Lanka’s tourism sector and the development of the industry.

Bringing more Indian tourists to Sri Lanka in the next 8 months, providing appropriate facilities for them, addressing security concerns and promoting destination were topics that were mainly focused on.

It is noteworthy that many Indian dignitaries representing the Indian government and the tourism sector were present during these meetings and events.

Sanath Jayasuriya, former Sri Lankan cricketer and Sri Lankan Tourism Brand Ambassador for the South Asian region, Thisum Jayasuriya, Chairman of Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Chalaka Gajabahu, Chairman of the Tourism Promotion Bureau were among the Sri Lankan dignitaries who participated in this series of events.
