According to the latest tourism statistics, Sri Lanka has seen an increasing number of tourist arrivals, marking 441,177 arrivals for the first quarter of the year.
This is seen as a considerable change compared with last year’s tourist arrivals which was only 719,978 up to December 2022.
As one of its key source markets, Sri Lanka Tourism expects more than 260,000 arrivals from India this year, contributing a great deal to the rising number of tourist arrivals.
The expected number of tourist arrivals overall had been 1.55 million earlier, but with the rapid growth of arrival figures, Sri Lanka Tourism sees a positive sign of achieving 2 million tourists for the year 2023.
