More than 16,000 tourists arrive in Sri Lanka in June

More than 16,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka during the first six days of June.

According to latest data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 16,559 tourists arrived in the island thus far in June.

The SLTDA said in June, the highest number of tourists arrived from India.

A total of 4,060 Indian nationals have visited Sri Lanka thus far in June.

Meanwhile, the SLTDA added 1,789 tourists from Russia, 1,260 from the United Kingdom, 927 from Australia and 895 tourists from Germany also arrived in Sri Lanka this month.

The SLTDA noted that 83,309 tourists in total arrived in May.
