The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has called upon Sri Lanka to develop an aviation blueprint to enhance its aviation industry and drive economic growth.
Whilst attending a conference organised by Sri Lanka’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Philip Goh, IATA’s Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific, emphasised the importance of government support and collaboration among industry stakeholders.
He recommended updating the airport masterplan, digitising passenger and cargo processes, keeping costs low, and utilising IATA’s safety initiatives.
Goh called for a comprehensive consultation involving airlines and other stakeholders as the government develops sustainability policies.
