A Korean Civil Service Buddhist Association delegation arrives in Sri Lanka.

A 37-member delegation belonging to the Korean Civil service Buddhist Association, recently landed in Sri Lanka to Promote Support and Solidarity by Promoting Sri Lanka’s Hospitality, and Cultural Experience, With High – end value, promoting and creating awareness on Sri Lanka Tourism to the High End travelers in Korea. This was mainly a Pilgrim Tour which included the members and their families, starting from 29th July to 4th of August 2024.
The Government Employee Buddhist Association was established in 2000 with over 700 government employees from 47 government organizations. Since then, the association has held numerous Dharma services, temple stays in home and local and overseas pilgrimages. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the Association has initiated pilgrim tours overseas again this year and the visit to Sri Lanka is one of among them.
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau welcomed the visitors to the country with colorful vigour , adorned with souvenirs and garlands from SLTPB. They were also entertained by a Kandyan dance troupe who showed their cultural pride with a superb performance. The delegation intends to visit a lot of Buddhism related locations to visit on their stay such as attractions in Anuradhapura, namely Maha viharaya, Sri MahaBodi, Ruwanvali Stupa, Isurumuniya, Abayagiriya and Jeathawanaramaya. They also hope to visit Mihintale and an overnight stay at the Cinnamon Lodge, further extending their itinerary by visiting places such as Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, an Elephant Safari, and visiting attractions including Dambulla Cave Temple, Aluviharaya Matale, and Kandy, completing it with a stay at the Grand Kandyan .
The Korean guests enjoying their time in Nuwaraeliya visiting the Tea Factory, Tea Field and the Gregory Lake, also experiencing a night over at the Tea Factory . Covering the Southern Coastal Area, they visited the Ahun Galla Beach, (including the Mangroves) and will end their tour of Sri Lanka by returning to Colombo and visiting the National Museaum and sightseeing in Pettah, departing on the same day to. Incheon, Korea.
