A team of Special Task Force (STF) officers stationed at the Nuwara Eliya camp successfully rescued a Chinese national who sustained a fractured left foot while hiking in the Lokanthaya, Maeliya area today.
Upon discovering the injured woman, the STF officers swiftly administered first aid before improvising a temporary stretcher with available equipment. Braving the challenging terrain, they carried her approximately four kilometers to safety, ensuring she received the necessary medical attention.
Authorities have commended the STF team for their prompt response and dedication, highlighting their crucial role in assisting those in distress in remote areas. The hiker is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
