The groundbreaking ceremony for the Marina Development at Port City Colombo, held today, marks a transformative step in elevating Colombo as a premier destination for marine tourism and recreation. A joint initiative by China Harbour and Engineering Corporation/CHEC Port City Colombo Ltd., Browns Investments PLC, and LOLC Holdings PLC, the project will feature a state-of-the-art marina with the capacity to harbor 243 marine vessels.
Beyond its core functionality, the development will include exclusive guest clubs, dining options, retail outlets, recreation areas, event spaces, and ample parking facilities, creating a vibrant waterfront experience. The event was graced by Foreign Affairs and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath as the Chief Guest.
Recognized as a strategic development under the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Act, the Marina project is positioned to enhance Colombo’s global appeal while driving significant economic growth. With Colombo Marina Development Ltd. at the helm, this venture is set to redefine the city’s landscape as a world-class investment and leisure hub.
