Sri Lanka welcomes Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s flag carrier, which launches operations in the winter 2024/2025 season. It is the first flight to land at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA srilanka), where passengers received a hearty welcome, giving the two nations new linkage.
They had a royal welcome starting with a historic water cannon salute by Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka (AASL). The passengers and crew were also treated to a spectacular cultural performance by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau-Kandyan dance.
Air Astana will run four weekly flights between Kazakhstan and Colombo, opening yet another door for tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges. This new connection is anticipated to enhance relationships and provide easy accessibility for travelers to enter the beauty and heritage of both countries.
Cheers to new friendships, new promotion-the new development of tourism and travelling!
