The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) will refurbish and reassign 15 double-decker buses for use in tourism, Transport Minister Bandula Guanawardane said.

The minister told the Daily Mirror that all these buses are in need of repairs at the moment.

“We will repair them to be used in the tourism sector. Two buses will be used for passenger transport between the Anuradhapura railway station and the Sacred City to break the monopoly of three-wheeler operators who charge exorbitant rates from the pilgrims,” he said
