36,000 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka in the first two weeks of May

More than 36,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka during the first two weeks of May.

According to latest data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 36,100 tourists arrived in the island thus far in May.

The SLTDA said in May, the highest number of tourists arrived from India.

A total of 9,323 Indian nationals have visited Sri Lanka thus far in May.

Meanwhile, the SLTDA added 3,686 tourists from Russia, 2,523 from the United Kingdom, 2,179 from Germany, 2,075 from Australia and 1,915 tourists from China also arrived in Sri Lanka this month.

The SLTDA noted that 105,498 tourists in total arrived in April.
