Sri Lanka’s yearly target for tourist arrivals is short of 426,479 arrivals to meet its yearly target by 31 December, provisional data of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) revealed.
The SLTDA set its yearly target for 2024 at 2.3 million arrivals along with a revenue target of $ 3.5 billion revenue target at the beginning of the year.
SLTDA data revealed that 1,873, 521 tourists had arrived within the year by 11 December.
Health and Mass Media Minister Nalinda Jayatissa revealed to an audience of industry people and media that the government has set a target of four million tourists in the next two years, and a revenue target of $ 8.5 billion.
He spoke at the inauguration of the Kalutara United Traders and Industrialists Association on Saturday (14).
