Sri Lanka’s tourism industry continues to thrive, with 70,449 international visitors arriving in the first nine days of March 2025, according to the latest data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

This follows a strong start to the year, with January recording 252,761 arrivals and February welcoming 240,217 tourists. The consistent growth in visitor numbers underscores the island’s rising popularity as a travel destination, supported by strategic promotional campaigns, improved air connectivity, and heightened global interest in Sri Lanka’s diverse offerings.

Industry experts attribute this upward trend to the country’s cultural festivals, pristine beaches, wildlife experiences, and heritage sites, all of which continue to captivate travelers worldwide.

With peak travel months ahead, stakeholders remain optimistic about sustaining this momentum, further solidifying Sri Lanka’s position as a premier tourism hotspot in 2025.
