Sri Lanka will prioritise the promotion of untapped tourist destinations across the country, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced while presenting the 2025 Budget.

Sites such as Anuradhapura and Yapahuwa will be developed and marketed, with Rs. 500 million allocated for the initiative.

Accordingly, efforts will be made to introduce a fully digitalised ticketing system to enhance visitor convenience and streamline tourism operations.
