Cabinet approves Lufthansa Technik for SriLankan Airlines engine repairs

13

The Cabinet has approved a four-year contract with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) in Hamburg to repair SriLankan Airlines’ CFM56-5B engines. These engines power the airline’s Airbus A320 fleet.

Seven companies submitted bids through an international competitive process. The Technical Evaluation Committee and the Standing Procurement Committee reviewed the proposals. Based on their recommendations, the Cabinet awarded the contract to Lufthansa Technik.

The President, as Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, submitted the proposal. Lufthansa Technik was chosen as the lowest responsive bidder for engine repair, maintenance, and overhaul.
